Buddhism and International Modern Art

The traditions of Buddhist art are not only limited to paintings or sculptures. During the 19th and 20th centuries, Buddhist art expanded into the field of modern arts and became a focal point of different artworks. Felix Kwok, Sotheby’s Director of Asia, will introduce precious collections from Museums worldwide and outstanding artworks he encountered throughout his career. By comparing these works with the collection of Tsz Shan Monastery Buddhist Art Museum, as well as analysing the relationship between Buddhism and modern art around the world, we can understand Buddhism’s artistic impact.
